Dance Of Nightshade – strange soundscapes and slow songs
Dance Of Nightshade was started in year 2005 AD by Ile Kauppila. At first, the style of music was more industrial-like hardcore techno. After few songs that were never published, style changed into more minimalistic, ambient-like soundscapes. In that time, band was working under name Krosirum. Few songs were made, and three of them were good enough to be published. Internet-demo “…For Them To Believe” was born in year 2006 AD. The first two songs of this demo were more drone doom than dark ambient, and they are just not as simple as the present music of Dance Of Nightshade. In the third song, “End Of Days”, could already be heard the simplicity that now has become the ruling element of Dance Of Nightshade.
After “…For Them To Believe” the name of the band was changed into Dance Of Nightshade. Music became more simple, and after some time, internet-single “Gravehills” was published. This single introduced a new style of Dance Of Nightshade: simple, atmospheric dark ambient. In the next internet-demo that was published year 2007 AD, “6 feet away from/Xyz Pprh Kemplh”, a new element was again discovered. The second song in this demo, “Xyz Pprh Kemplh” represented harsh noise, while the first song “6 feet away from” was dark ambient.
In the same year, another internet-single was published. “In The Mind Of Kerub” was shorter than the previous songs and it didn’t introduce any new elements. Still, it has been the most popular song of year 2007 AD publications.
In December 2007 AD demo “Soundscapes Of Deliverance And Damnation” was published. After the exhausting recording time, the band went on a short brake, during which the band name was changed again, this time into DoNS.
After couple of months the internet-single “Rjabonev” was published in February 2008 AD under the new name. It introduced new, more industrial-like elements into the sound of DoNS and has received some positive feedback.
DoNS is currently more or less on a break, but stay tuned. True evil will always return.
